Thanks for visiting my website and for your interest in Stitched by Sarah.

I'm the Sarah behind Stitched by Sarah and I am based in Auckland, New Zealand. I'm a single mum to an amazing daughter who is now a teenager and I have two furry babies, my cat Fudge and my dog Bella.

In a past life I had a number of corporate roles working as in marketing communications and digital marketing and gained experience in website development and video editing. Unfortunately due to some health challenges a few years ago I had to stop work and due to the pain and fatigue I experience it is very unlikely that I will return to a corporate role again.

For a while now I've been trying to work out what a new normal could look like for me. I explored a gourmet marshmallow business but that was too physical for me and I had to accept that it was not my new path. In late 2024 I started sewing again after quite an absence from it and I have rediscovered this passion of mine. I'm so grateful that because I'm operating on muscle memory I have been able to pick it back up fairly quickly.

As part or reacquainting myself with sewing I started watching sewing videos on YouTube and discovered some YouTubers based in Canada, the USA and Australia who have turned their love of sewing into a business. I was inspired by their creativity and motivated to try making scrunchies and make up bags myself. With New Zealand being so far from everyone shipping here can be really expensive and it makes ordering from overseas quite challenging. Even if it the products and shipping are affordable the shipping times can take several weeks (yes that's week, not days)!

I hope to create products that bring fun and flair to your life, or the life of someone you're giving to.

Each product I design has a lot of thought behind it to ensure that it not only looks great but functions how it needs to. I have so many product ideas that I can't wait to develop and bring to you so please considering subscribing or follow me on social media for updates.
